Everything else can be taken over, never the originality, the core. Logic has it this way & it’s as simple. Perhaps the ‘intelligent’ sense finds this too common that it tricks us into chasing the elusive!
People change, colours change, situations change. Our true self sticks until mortal understanding elevates. Spirituality isn’t god, religion, traditions as much about finding self-expression. Staying true to the core even in a small way is far enriching than being stifled in a mansion.
