Train Friendship
An interesting friendship developed on an overnight train journey did stir up some
nostalgic moments from my childhood days. Nostalgic I thought so, given that we resort
to rail as the last option these days. As a stranger she walked into the 2-bed
compartment on a euro night train and occupied the other berth. The magic of sleeping
on a clattering train, I’d think, the following morning, we were out exploring the new city
together until the point I wandered away while taking pictures. Just as I was about to
retire for the day, wishing I had said a proper good-bye, I received a new mail, an email
from this train friend!
